In this article, the Wizard will tell us how to make a massive cutting board. Such a board is perfect for cutting meat or fish.
Tools and materials:
- Walnut board;
-Waterproof carpentry glue;
-Mineral oil;
-Wax;
-Legs;
-Grinder;
- Forstner drill;
-Capacity with water;
-A circular saw;
- Planing machine;
- Clamps;
Step One: Sawing
Marks and saws the board along.
Step Two: Planing and Joining No. 1
Rounds off workpieces, then passes through the planer.
Step Three: Bonding
The blanks are planed and even in thickness and the master glues them together, getting two boards.
Step Four: Planing and Planning No. 2
Now the master processes glued boards on the planer.
Step Five: Gluing
Now the master glues two boards by matching the side surfaces.
Step Six: Cut again
Now you need to saw the board across several boards.
Seventh step: final gluing
The master glues the blanks for the third time. As you can see in the photo, a beautiful segmented board is obtained.
Step Eight: Grinding
The master passes the board through the grinder. This operation helps to level the board, smooth out irregularities. The master grinds corners on a disk grinder.
Step Nine: Grooves
The board is massive enough and for convenience, the master, on a milling machine, cuts out two grooves from the ends for capture by fingers.
Step Ten: Cover
Mster polishes the board with a manual grinder and sandpaper. Washes dust off the surface. After drying, it applies a layer of oil, and then beeswax.
Step Eleven: Feet
With the last step, the master screws anti-slip legs to the bottom of the board.
