Hello everyone, today we will look at how to make a powerful 12V drill / screwdriver. The design is very simple and reliable, such homemade will cost much cheaper than a screwdriver, and will work no worse. To simplify the design, there is no battery in the drill, but you can install it if you wish. As a basis, a 12V gear motor is used, which allows you to get excellent torque. Drill manufacturing process:
Step one. Engine installation
The first step is to install the engine in the housing, which is used as a piece of plumbing pipes. We take measurements and cut a piece of pipe with a hacksaw. We will fasten the engine to a plug for a pipe of the corresponding diameter. To mark the places for the holes, we use paint.
Well, then we drill holes and fasten the motor with screws.
Step Two Correction of the body
In the case, you need to cut holes for ventilation, for the switch, and you will also need a hole in the back cover for installing the socket for the power supply. The ventilation holes are cut with a drill opposite the ventilation windows that are in the engine housing. Without ventilation, the engine will warm up and will quickly fail.
Step Three Assembly and testing
You can start assembling the drill, arm yourself with a soldering iron, solder the wires and assemble the case. Plastic plugs can be put on glue, or you can drill holes for the screws, then the design will be collapsible.
We install the drill cartridge on the motor shaft through a special adapter.
The drill is ready, you can experience it, it drills homemade perfectly, the author even uses pen drills.
