One of the simplest and fastest projects is a water rocket, but to fly on it, you need a launcher that allows you to accumulate air pressure and, thus, launch it.
According to the master, the launcher presented in this article is reliable and efficient. Also, at the end of the article, we will tell you how to make a water rocket.
Tools and materials:
-Plastic pipe + fittings;
-Bicycle nipple with spool;
-Tool for threading;
-Sealing tape;
- clamp;
-Plastic ties;
-Bicycle Pump;
-Plastic bottle;
-Double sided tape;
-Scissors;
-Rope;
Step One: Project
When designing the launcher, the master was guided by stability and dimensions.
Step Two: Material Preparation
Now you need to cut the pipes and cut the ends at the ends. The master cuts off the tubes in the following sizes:
- 25 cm (1 pc)
- 30 cm (2 pcs)
- 15 cm (1 pc)
- 14 cm (2 pcs)
Step Three: Build
Now you can assemble the launcher. When assembling nodes, for tightness, the master uses a sealing tape.
Installs stubs, pre-installing in one of them a nipple. The nipple is fixed with epoxy.
Step Four: Handset to Run
The diameter of the tube should be as close as possible to the diameter of the neck of the bottle. The bottle will be put on the tube almost all the way. The master notes the place on the tube where the neck will be located and wraps tape on it. Then he makes a bottle holder from screeds and a clamp. The ends of the couplers will catch on the side of the neck of the bottle. For the descent, the master cuts the neck of another bottle and puts it on the tube. Now, if you pull it up, the ties will fall off the side.
Step Five: Rocket
The master makes rockets from ordinary 1.5 - 2 liter bottles. To the bottom of the rocket (neck) you need to glue stabilizers cut from thick cardboard or plastic disposable tableware. The upper part needs to be weighted, the master does this with the help of a toy figure.
Step Six: Launch
Now you can start the rocket launch. The rocket is located tail-up and is filled to a third with water.The tube is inserted into the hole until it stops (to electrical tape). The rocket with the launcher flips. The holder catches on the neck of the neck. Pressure builds up. Then you need to pull the trigger, and the rocket takes off.
