Step One: Making Head and Seat
The master begins with the manufacture of the head and seat.
First, he glues the boards into two blanks, one for the head and one for the body. The head design is taken from the image that the master found on the Internet. Using a program in the style of Photoshop, the master scaled the image and printed. Then I glued the template to the board and cut it out.
The seat is narrower and has 2 semicircular cutouts. To mark these curves, the master used a tray. Then cuts and polishes the workpiece.
In the front of the seat, the master cuts out a groove for installing the head. The head is attached with dowels and wood glue.
Step Two: Feet
Next, you need to make legs and fix them on a support. The legs are set to the side at an angle of ten degrees and forward / backward at an angle of fifteen degrees.
The edges of the supporting part, which is mounted under the seat, need to be sawed off at an angle of ten degrees. Also, the lower part of the legs is trimmed at an angle.
To attach the legs to the support, the master used dowels. After assembly, the unit checks its strength.
Step Three: Crossbars
Now you need to cut and install the cross bars. When the planks are fixed, the master marks the places for installing the legs on the sled.
Step Four: Slide
Now you need to give the sled the right shape. The wizard makes markup and cuts off excess material. Then polishes the slide.
Step Five: Build
All details are ready and it remains to assemble a rocking horse. Assembly on dowels and wood glue. After assembly, the master covers the toy with oil.
