Hello everybody The steel in the bearing is mixed with other metals such as mine. Nickel plated. I have made knives from bearings many times. He sat and decided to make himself a mini small knife so that he would put it in his pocket and go about his business. But strong so as not to go dumb quickly. Poshkryabov found a piece of the bearing from the gimbal and proceeded to forging
- Drill
- Bulgarian
- Grinder
- Piece of metal
Before forging, I heat and cool slowly, so the metal becomes obedient. I heat and level the workpiece. I heat and forge to form a thickness of 2mm.
Forged a blade.
Now I will form a point sharpening without bevels
With forging everything. Now I grind everything superfluous. And proceed to the next step.
QUENCHING
I check the cherry red color at 800 ° C with a magnet, hold it for 1 minute more for 1 mm of the thickness of the knife and dip it in oil. Here is a view after quenching and tempering at 200 ° C for 2 hours.
Well, now I polish on the grinder, changing the grain from large to smallest.
Now I polish the goy with a paste on a valen circle.
I proceed to the pen. For the handle, I have a maple cap, already dry. I drill a hole in the center of the bar, fill in epoxy, press without any guards. I overdid it a bit when I scored and a little crack went. All defects are filled with glue.
The process of formation of the handle will not be showing too interesting, so here is the finished look.
Thanks for attention. Until new Homemade Friends
