Hello fans to craft, I offer an interesting idea for a table for a child. Tracks for a train are cut on the countertop, you can come up with a track map yourself. For such routes, you can buy cars and locomotives, or rather make a track under them. Playing on such a table can be quite interesting, especially by a company, the main thing is to make the paths as difficult and interesting as possible. Also in the table there are convenient drawers that allow you to store toys. To make a table, the author used quite serious equipment, including a CNC milling cutter, but you can handle simpler tools if you wish. The process of making a table:
Step one. Parts preparation
We need to assemble two wood boards to make the countertop and the lower part. Plates are made of boards by gluing. Of course, the boards should be the same thickness, for this the author drove them through the surface gage.
We trim wood boards, align them with a planer if necessary and grind well. We also need partitions that connect the upper and lower parts.
Step Two Path milling
Next, on the countertop, it is necessary to mill railway tracks for cars and locomotives, the author developed a plan on a computer and printed it on a printer. The finished project was cut using a CNC milling machine. Who does not have access to such a machine, you can quite cope with the help of a manual milling cutter.
After milling, we grind the paths so that nothing wedges anywhere and there are no sharp edges. Then a drill with the appropriate nozzle will come to our aid.
Step Three Assembly of drawers and countertops
Everything is ready for assembling the countertops, we assemble the structure on the glue using dowels.
We also make boxes, they are connected on a thorn connection and glue, the author forms the spikes using a milling machine. As the bottom for the boxes, you can use plywood, under the plywood we cut a groove in the frame of the box.
Step Four Frame
We prepare materials for the table frame, here we need a beam. The author cuts the necessary material from a thick board on a circular saw. And in order to align all the bars to the same thickness, we drive them through the thicknesser. To assemble the frame, glue and furniture dowels are used.
The author makes a frame with imitation of metal, later it will be painted black.
Step Five Box installation
We install the boxes in their place, here we need furniture sliders. The author has sliders with fixation, to open the box, you will need to press it lightly.
For boxes, we cut out and carefully grind the front boards, fasten them from the inside with self-tapping screws.
Step Six Finishing and assembly
We impregnate the table with stain or oil, high-quality wood from such an impregnation will look natural and very beautiful.
As for the frame, we paint it in black, the bottom line is to imitate profile pipes, everything looks quite original. When everything is ready, the table can be assembled, we fasten the countertop to the frame with screws.
