All this, in principle, can be bought at a specialized store or at a flea market.
But! If you summer resident, doing home repairs, or just an enthusiastic master, do not do serial or mass production of something, but various fixtures you use occasionally as needed. That makes direct sense to design and manufacture devices for work yourself, it will be an order of magnitude cheaper and, we think, more pleasant for the master himself.
During carpentry work, the need often arises for precise drilling of holes; it is quite problematic to produce precise drilling without having certain fixtures.
It will be much easier for you to work if you have at hand a simple home-made conductor for drilling holes.
And we will try, with you, to make today a very simple jig for drilling dowels (fixing rods made of metal, plastic or wood, used to connect two elements of the product). The main purpose of this conductor, compliance with alignment when drilling holes. Those. when using a jig, we get the opportunity to drill holes for further precise fixing of parts of the product relative to each other, and this, as you know, is one of the most important parameters in the production.
So we collect with you a prototype conductor for connecting panels, bars, boards, etc. etc., made of wood, chipboard, OSB and other similar materials. The conductor is indecently simple to manufacture, this device can be assembled even by a student at labor lessons, focusing on the accuracy and accuracy of the manufacturing of this device. It does not require almost any material costs; it is collected from the waste accumulated in your workshop. Production time will take no more than half an hour.

What tools and equipment will we need in the manufacturing process:
1. A cutting tool for wood, it can be a hacksaw, jigsaw or any other tool for this purpose.
2. A hacksaw for metal or a cutting machine with a cutting wheel for metal.
3. Drill or drilling machine.
4. A set of drills.
5. File, emery cloth.
6. A screwdriver or screwdriver.
7. Vise and clamp.

Materials for the manufacture of our device:

Now about the manufacturing procedure of the conductor for drilling holes:

`1. We cut three bars of the same size, in our case, a width of 30 mm, a thickness of 15 mm and a length of 150 mm.
2. From the end in the center of one bar, make a triangular cut to a depth of about 5-7 mm. Having retreated, in our case, 12 mm from the center, we drill two holes with a diameter along the thickness of the metal tube.
3. Cut two metal tubes 3 mm longer than the thickness of the bar.
4. Press the tubes, with a hammer, into the holes of the bar.
5. At the edges of all the bars (as shown in the video clip), drill holes for screws.
6. We make two plates from plexiglass, as shown in the video clip.
7. We connect the resulting parts into a single unit, the conductor is ready to work.
