The Nintendo Switch game console is conveniently stored and transported in a protective case proposed by the author of Instructables under the nickname SamuelWalby.

The second compartment is designed to store the charger, joysticks and cartridges - they are quite tiny on this console. Initially, the master planned to divide this compartment into two so that the cartridges were stored separately. Details on the sketch:
Remember the joke about the method of making the fence: write an obscene word in the air, and then nail boards to it? The master, in a sense, does just that. Instead of first making a box, and then putting a piece of polystyrene in it, he starts from that piece ... begins. The foam cuts out in size: 10.5x6.5x2.5 inches (so in the original, in fact, it either needs to be larger or the recess is smaller, you can guess why according to the dimensions of the recesses given below).
Then cuts through two recesses: dimensions 10x4.5x2 and 10x2x2 inches. It also cuts a wooden cover (for which plywood is also suitable). The thickness of wood or plywood is a quarter of an inch.

Makes and adds side walls. Sets loops. It offers a latch on the opposite side of the hinges only if they are not tight, but this is not so. The latch is required in any case, since without it the case ceases to fulfill its shockproof function: if it accidentally opens, the console may fall out and break. Personalization of the case is optional, the master chose a laser engraving, you can also veneer, varnish or paint homemade. A handle or strap for carrying will not hurt.
You can make a similar case for another portable console, for example, PSP, GBA, Game Gear, Arduboy, for a smartphone, tablet, vintage PDA or MP3 player. It is only necessary to appropriately select the dimensions of the case and the notches in the foam for the device and accessories.Homemade work is especially good if the console in it is homemade, for example, obtained by remaking a small stationary console into a portable one, or made from scratch based on Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP, etc.
