Hello to all connoisseurs of things made of natural materials, this time we will consider how to make a beautiful round table in the "modern" style. The table top is made of cherry, the author assembled it from the boards. As for the legs, they have a beautiful surround streamlined shape. The tabletop rests on a powerful crosspiece, so that such a table will be quite strong and durable. If you are interested in the project, I propose to study it in more detail!
Materials and tools used by the author:
Material List:
- boards made of cherry (or other wood);
- thick boards for legs and crosses;
- wood oil, wax, or other impregnation to your taste.
Tool List:
- carpentry glue;

Table making process:
Step one. Countertop Assembly
We will prepare the materials for the countertop, you will need boards of the same thickness and preferably the same width. The author drove the boards through the surface gage to make them the same width.
We lay the boards on an even plane and glue them so that the structure is as strong as possible, we collect everything on furniture dowels.
After drying, you can cut a circle from the resulting wood slab. For work, the author used a manual router, the master works as a compass. After cutting, we go through the milling cutter and make the edges round. At the end, the countertop will remain well sanded with an orbital machine. The better the wood is processed, the better it will look after impregnating it with oil.
Step Two Legs and Cross
We cut the legs and the cross from thick boards, for a start you can make a template from plywood, according to which everything will be done. The main cutting work is done on a circular saw or band saw. Well, then the author is finalizing the details using a milling machine.
It is important to carefully polish the wood so that it looks beautiful.The legs will be connected to the cross through dowels, we cut corresponding holes for them.
Step Three Final touches and assembly
At the end, we process the legs with a planer and grind all parts of the table to a perfectly smooth state. In the end, it will remain to soak the tree with oil, now it will look very beautiful, and will not absorb moisture.
The table can be assembled, the cross and the table top is twisted with screws. Thanks to this solution, the table can be completely disassembled, which is convenient for transportation.
