The master works in production, and often, at lunch, used the same knife as for work. Considering this wrong, he decided to make a knife for cutting food. According to his plan, this should be an average folding knife, convenient enough for cutting sausages, and not sufficiently claiming to be cold weapons.

Step One: Design
In the graphic program, the master made several sketches of the knife. Then he printed the blade on a 3D printer. Of these, I chose the one that most meets the requirements.
Then he finalized the mechanism of closing / opening the knife for a specific blade. The knife will have a steel blade that will fold into an aluminum handle.
Step Two: Cutting
Further, the master prepares the material, cuts the steel strip to size, cuts the aluminum strip, grinds the burrs.
Step Three: Sponges
Further, the master of aluminum billet will make sponges for a vice. Sponges are needed to clamp the aluminum plate.
Installs the workpiece on the desktop of the milling machine and starts processing.
Step Four: Pen
The handle will be made of two aluminum plates. One will have a pocket for the blade, the second for the lock. Sets the plate in a vise and begins to cut a pocket for the blade.
After processing, polishes the surface.
Step Five: Blade
From a steel plate cuts out the blade and details of the lock.
Then the master processes the workpiece manually.
Step Six: Pen No. 2
Cut the second half of the handle. Drills holes for rivets and axles.
Seventh step: pre-assembly
Next, the master collects the knife by checking the fit of all the details.
Step Eight: Washer
The master makes the puck out of bronze. Cuts several square blanks from a sheet and glues them together.
Screws the plates to a metal blank, and installs it in the machine and processes it.
Step Nine: Pads
Lining master made of mahogany. Glued two boards. And cut out on a milling machine.
Step Ten: Grinding
Then the master grinds some details of the blade, polishes it.
Grinds the blade butt.
Step Eleven: Heat Treatment
Stainless steel foil) the master makes a package and puts the knife blade there.
Then puts the bag in the oven, at a temperature of 760 C, for 10 minutes. Raises temperature to 1040 C and maintains 30 minutes. Then the blade is placed in water, and then in liquid nitrogen. After cooling, it heats the blade again at 190C for two hours and cools the input. Repeats the last procedure two times.
Step Twelve: Build
Now you can start assembling the knife. It polishes the pads and covers with wax.
Makes brass rivets.
Collects a knife. Shears the protruding parts of the rivets. Rivets.
Step Thirteen: Sharpening
The knife is assembled and the master sharpens the blade.
All is ready.
