Many of you have probably encountered installing various fence posts or other metal structures in the ground.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel "All do it yourself"Will tell you how to do it right and avoid corrosion at the bottom of such structures.
Materials
- Plastic bottle with a capacity of 5-6 l
- Cement, sand, gravel
- Primer for metal.
Instruments, used by the author.
- Trowel, knife, brush.
Manufacturing process.
In the beginning, the author shows this schematically. With the standard installation method, a pit is dug, a metal pole is installed in it from a profile or ordinary pipe. Pipes are pre-coated with a primer or bitumen. Then the pit is poured with concrete.
However, after some time, neither the paint nor the primer saves from exposure to water on the lower part of the structure.
So what does the author suggest? Immediately after pouring concrete into the pit, while it has not yet hardened, formwork should be made and filled with a solution. The easiest way to do this is from a plastic “eggplant”.
Now examples from the master in photos. So, the pit has already been dug, the metal elements are stripped, and primed. Also, the structure is filled with concrete.
The neck and bottom are cut from the plastic eggplant, then it is cut lengthwise and put on the pipe.
After that, its edges are fixed with masking tape.
The resulting simple formwork is filled with a solution.
A few days later, when the concrete has hardened, the metal structures are painted. Also painted and concrete parts.
This method will be useful both in the construction of the fence, and the designs of children's swings, foundation elements.
I thank the author for the simple and correct way to protect metal structures!
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
