Manufacturing process.
As a light source, the master preferred to use an elongated Edison lamp with a filament. Such bulbs do not give bright light, but they look very beautiful. There are their LED versions, but their light is very bright, and does not give such warmth and comfort.
First of all, the author removes stickers from a glass bottle with a knife. They can also be removed effectively using a metal sponge for dishes and wetting the sticker.
After cleaning the surfaces, the master drills a hole in the bottom of the bottle with a pen drill on ceramics. It is advisable to use water. It is best to make a small "bath" of plasticine, and pour water into it. So drilling will be faster and less likely to break the glass.
The power supply wire should freely enter the resulting hole.
Now PVA glue is poured into a jar, and diluted with water by approximately 30%.
Then you can inflate the ball. Its size should be almost twice the size of the lamp itself. The final appearance of the lampshade will depend on the shape of the balloon.
In order not to wet the twine with glue manually, you can build a small device from the wire, which is put on the neck of the jar of glue, and the thread simply stretches through the glue.
However, you need to make sure that such a device does not roll over with glue. You can go the other way, and wrap the twine around the ball, and then apply glue to it.
The author did not begin to twine the twine too tightly; he wants the lamp itself to be visible. The workpiece is left to dry.
While the glue dries, you can treat the glass bottle with a sandblasting machine and get a dull surface. If you do not have such a tool, then you can paint it with acrylic paint, or matte varnish. You can also wrap it with twine.
Now the wire is passed through the bottom hole, and displayed through the neck.
The author’s cartridge case was glued to a two-component epoxy adhesive, although you can do with the usual cyanoacrylate second.
Then he made the necessary connections in the switch and the cartridge.
He wraps the neck of the bottle with several layers of twine, and impregnates it with glue.
The lampshade has dried, now you can burst the ball and remove its remains.
At the bottom edge of the lampshade, a cut is made along the diameter of the cartridge. This can be done with a dremel, or with sharp nippers, it will turn out even more accurately.
The edges of the holes are reinforced with ordinary threads, you can additionally soak with glue.
The author paints the surface of the lamp shade in white with spray paint.
Everything is ready, you can screw in the lamp, connect the lamp to the network, and put on a lampshade.
And here is the bulb itself inside the lampshade, giving a very pleasant warm light.
This lamp is ideal for lighting the bedroom. Depending on the lamp model and the thickness of the twine, bizarre shadows may appear on the walls and ceiling.
I thank the author for the idea of a simple but beautiful and cozy lamp for the home!
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
