Like homemadeAt first glance, quite a lot. To place a power supply unit and a car radio in the general case, to connect any speakers outside is a simple matter. But the author of Instructables under the nickname VietnamReviews made such a monoblock design. Inside the MDF case, there was a car radio with video player function and built-in monitor, and all the acoustics, and the connector block, and even the battery. The thing turned out to be bulky, but portable at the same time.
The master chooses MDF with a thickness of 15 mm as an inexpensive, but at the same time durable material. It makes the walls of the body from it, marks and makes all the holes:
He wonders how the dynamic heads will be located:
Fastens the radio tape recorder and heads, after which it removes them so that there are holes for screwing in the screws:
Before screwing in the self-tapping screws connecting the case walls to each other, makes it so that their heads become countersunk:
Makes a trial assembly of the case:
In principle, it’s already so beautiful, but the master shows perfectionism: he takes it all apart, grinds it, fills the gaps with a mixture of sawdust and latex glue, grinds it again, collects it, covers it with the same mixture of the screws (for which he made them countersunk), grinds it again - and here they are not visible, and finally, it covers the walls of the holes with superglue.
To place the connectors and the switch, the master uses a junction box:
Returns the dynamic heads to their places, makes a compartment for the radio with a hole for cables and tries to put it there:
Temporarily pushes the radio out of the compartment, puts it on an improvised stand out of the box, connects the receiver of the navigator (wow the car radio, it has a video player, monitor and navigator, I’m not even surprised if it works on Android or Windows CE, and the screen is on it - touch), begins to connect dynamic heads to the radio by soldering, isolates everything.
Installs the battery. Caution, you cannot connect such batteries to the battery by soldering.Either spot welding or compartments. In general, the 18650 and MDF are a dumb combination, it is better to put a lead helium battery from the UPS, moreover, then it will be possible to dispense with RPPI connectors, and the battery itself does not require a balancing device. But even in this case, a short circuit cannot be allowed, and it would be nice to put a 6 A circuit breaker with characteristic C.
The wizard sets two switches and connects them as shown in the following diagram. The balancing charge controller is not shown here for simplicity, but it is, and should be required. You can select the following modes with the switches: everything is off, charging the battery, working on the power supply, working on the battery.
The master connects the power connector. So that the lid of the junction box with connectors can be quickly removed and installed, he uses magnets.
The wizard shows various dynamic heads and passive emitters, provides formulas for calculating inductors and capacitors connected in parallel and in series, shows a program, one of the functions of which is the calculation of filters from which you can make a crossover speaker system.
The music center, meanwhile, is ready, the master photographs it along with his favorite tactical flashlight:
And he shoots video about the device, it turns out that there really is a touch screen, and Android, and a navigator, and a browser, and video output.
It’s good to make something similar to everyone who was presented with a car radio despite the absence of a car. And handy people are given audio equipment for restoration quite often.
