He is really kind to me. Today I found materials about the construction of an aircraft model, which I’m going to build for 9 years.
And we are talking about a model of an experimental vertical take-off and landing aircraft (VTOL), built by Charles Zimmerman - Vought V-173 "Skimmer" ("Shumovka").
He collected many different photographs, drawings, but did not decide how to start building this model.
So I was lucky to find on the pages of the RCGroups forum a detailed description of the construction of this model, and even with photos.
I suggest that you and I go through the pages of the author’s notes and once again see the whole process of its creation.
I have these drawings.
But the author kindly provided his drawings, specially made for printing on sheets of A4 paper, designed for ceiling tiles. The author makes the entire model from the ceiling pit, I plan to make it from a simple, sheet substrate for a laminate of 1200 X 500 X 5 mm in size.
I looked - beautiful, detailed drawings with scans of all the templates. Cutting the details according to such patterns is a pleasure.
After cutting from the ceiling, the author got such a pile of blanks.
Wing ribs stick together.
Now insert the side members into the ribs and you can glue it.
Each cut out fragment of the upper skin of the model is pre-bent. When bending, you can use a metal ruler.
The more precisely the cladding details are adjusted to each other, the smoother and more beautiful the model will turn out.
This is how the model should look. The most important thing is patience and accuracy. Now everything is done the same, only on the other side of the model.
The battery compartment and manhole cover are being made.
From wooden slats made of student rulers, blanks are made on which motors will be mounted and glued into place. The main thing is that they would be installed symmetrically.
Stripes are cut from these rulers and glued from two sides to already glued blanks. It turns out a cross.
Inside the fuselage - wing there is a lot of space where you can place the whole electronic stuffing.
Servos are glued.
The wing edge is glued. .
The extreme pieces of the wing sheathing are glued in, previously carefully adjusted in place.
The tail section of the model begins.
Control surfaces are mounted.
Before finally gluing the casing, the wires are laid and the servos are glued.
We proceed to work with the rear wings, the stabilizer. Steering surfaces are mounted and mounted in place.
Installation work begins on the assembly of the cabin.
Installation work on the assembly of air intakes.
The wingtips are glued.
The engine hoods are fitted in place and mounted in place. The motors themselves are installed.
Keels are glued and mounted in place.
The nose cone is glued.
It was the turn for the manufacture of a cabin light.
Boars are glued in, traction is connected to the svvomashinkami.
The main work is completed.
There was only one task left, which chassis to install. You can wheels, you can ski. It all depends on the weather.
We do both.
Here is a model with skis in the snow.
Here is the CT model.
In conclusion, the video of the first flight.
Dear friends, I don’t know about you, but to me personally everything is clear and clear, you can start building this model.
On this I say goodbye to you.
Goodbye, your Valerian.
