I welcome all fans to craft, I propose to consider instructions for the manufacture of a simple and reliable machine for bending rebar, rods and other metal products do it yourself. Using such a machine, you can make smart gates, doors, and for different homemade sometimes you need to bend something. Everything is assembled on the basis of a large strong bearing, around which everything revolves. All materials are inexpensive, easy to get, so don’t be too lazy and collect such a useful machine for yourself!
Materials and tools used by the author:
Material List:
- large bearing (for the main, central);
- profile pipes;
- fittings;
- a round pipe (for a holder for a bearing);
- a piece of durable steel (a piece of spring is suitable);
- two bearings, a bolt, a nut (for a roller);
- a piece of a round pipe of small diameter (under a bolt).
Tool List:
- grinder;
- welding machine;
- tape cutting machine (optional);
- vise;
- roulette.
Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Bearing cage
First of all, we will make a holder for the diameter of the bearing that you have. As a holder, the author used a piece of pipe with a slightly larger diameter than the diameter of the bearing. To reduce the diameter of the cage, simply cut a piece of metal from the pipe, and then bend the pipe with a hammer and weld the joint.
Step Two Bearing core
According to the idea, a square profile pipe should go into the center of the bearing, it is made removable so that different nozzles can be placed on the machine. As a result, we need to make a square hole in the center of the bearing, to solve the problem the author used two pieces of the corner. Just grind the corner so that it goes into the hole, and then firmly weld the corner to the inside of the bearing. Before welding, the author removed the protective plastic rings so that they would not melt. At the end, grease the bearing with solid oil and put the rings in place.
Step Three Lever arm
We weld a lever to the clip, or rather a piece of pipe, into which a long lever will be installed.We also weld pieces of a round pipe to this piece of the profile pipe, a stop bolt will be installed in them, so you can adjust the desired bending radius.
Step Four Emphasis
We make an emphasis at which the end of the reinforcement or other bendable material will go. The emphasis should be strong, there will be heavy loads. As an axis, the author welded profile pipes, and the emphasis was made of a spring. The selected spring steel is excellent, it spring under heavy loads. The manufactured axis will eventually be clamped in a vice.
Step Five Lever and Roller
The author welded the lever for the machine from the reinforcement, it should be long and strong, so a minimum amount of force will be required to bend the reinforcement.
As for the roller, for such purposes the author adapted two small radial bearings, and a bolt with a nut acts as an axis. The machine easily bends a rather thick reinforcement, which is not so easy to bend with other methods.
Step Six Other nozzles
The author also bent a steel rod into a spiral, used a piece of a square pipe as the axis, and the end of the rod is inserted into the hole in the pipe. As an emphasis, it was no longer used a roller, but a piece of steel pipe, a finger from the piston system of the car is perfect.
Similarly, the author twisted the reinforcement already around a round pipe, a round pipe was also used as an emphasis, but already larger in diameter.
And finally, how can you do without cold forging without such a thing as a “snail”. Its author welded from sheet steel, cutting a circle as a basis. But this time the machine was fixed in a vice already by the lever, that is, the author herself rotates the platform with a snail. The author decided to bend a square rod, the machine easily coped with such a task.
