Vacuum grip from aquarium compressor and ballpoint pen

Vacuum grip is used to pick up small items such as beads, or SMD components. They are not very useful for collecting large things, such as coins or large computer chips, but are great for such small things that they are difficult to even grab with your fingers, especially if you are worried about breaking them. Grips with a hand pump sell for around $ 10, with an electric vacuum pump for around $ 50- $ 80.

The master’s goal is to make a vacuum grip with an electric pump with minimal investment.

Tools and materials:
-Aquarium compressor Aqua Culture;
-Aquarium compressor Whisper 100;
-Tube silicone;
T-shaped connector;
-Valve;
-Clamp;
-A needle for pumping up balls;
-Small screws;
- The writing pen with a rubber slip;
- The writing pen is comfortable for the hand;
-Scissors;
-Screwdriver;
Epoxy resin;
-Toothpick;
-Pliers;

Step One: Aqua Culture
To manufacture such devices, you need to redo the aquarium compressor to work in the opposite direction. Those. to draw in air. The wizard will show you how to do this with two compressors. One more powerful Whisper 100 compressor, another Aqua Culture 20-60 liters. Accordingly, the more powerful the compressor, the more powerful the grip, the more weight objects can be lifted.
First, it remakes the Aqua Culture compressor.
Disassembles the compressor housing.

Disassembles the air pump. Removes the cap from the nozzles.

The following operation must be done for both ends of the pump.
Disassembles the diaphragm. She is pictured in black (on both sides).

Remember how the parts cover and gasket are located (from different ends they are located in different ways). Disassembles covers and gaskets.

To change the direction of the air flow, you need to turn these gaskets 180 degrees. There are pins on the seats, and holes on the gaskets. To install in a different way, you need to make a new hole in the gasket so that it matches the pin.

Now you need to install the gaskets and assemble the compressor.

After assembly, the compressor must suck in air.

Step Two: Whisper 100
Now redo the second compressor. Remaking this compressor is even easier.
Disassembles the case.

Parses the pump. Need to remove the diaphragm (black rubber). Then remove the white part and rotate it 180 degrees. Perform the same operation on the other hand and assemble the compressor.

Step Three: Capture
Now you need to do a vacuum grip.

To make it, you need a handle, from which you can dismantle the front and back.

It is necessary to disassemble the handle and remove the rod and spring. The needle should be inserted into the front. On the needle, you need to muffle or cut off the side hole.

Drill a hole in the tip. This hole is needed to relieve the vacuum. Those. when the compressor is connected, the part is sucked and gripped. Then the grip moves to the desired location, and the hole in the cone opens. The pressure is equalized and the part "detaches" from the grip.

Next, you need to glue the needle inside the spout.

The master uses a crocodile as a valve. One part of the clamp is cut off. The other part needs to be bent and then bent around the nose of the handle. On the other hand, drill holes for fixing the clamp to the handle. A valve is cut out of the gum and glued to the clip. The "crocodile" is screwed to the grip housing.

This is what the valve looks like.

At the other end of the capture, the master installs a valve that controls the flow of air in the aquarium. To install it, the master cut off the adapter from another handle.

Now everything needs to be connected.

And these are examples of capture operation. The first compressor copes with small parts without problems, but it cannot capture larger ones.

After installing the suction cup, the gripper handled a small coin, but could not raise larger ones.

A more powerful compressor coped with a large coin.

Also, the master tried to use this device like a desoldering pump. Unfortunately the solder clogs the channel. But the master can say that he will try to improve the device.

Tetra Whisper Aquarium Air Pump 100 Gal: 36,47$
It’s a pity that we could not find descriptions of the finished ones for 50–80 dollars, for sure there is a whole set of different nozzles for all occasions in the kit!
