Built-in wardrobe rack

Hello dear readers!

From the article below you will learn how to do it yourself make a wooden bookcase in the dressing room. The following description and instructions are taken from the Matthias Wandel YouTube channel.

Not having enough space in the kitchen, the wife of the master began to use the built-in wardrobe to store food. She used a plastic rack with drawers, but it could not be placed on the wall of the wardrobe, so it was not ideally used.

Necessary tools and materials:

- spruce board 50x250 mm;
- boards from recycled materials;
- table saw;
- roulette;
- planing machine;
- a pencil;
- PVA carpentry glue;
- mallet;
- band-saw;
- clamps;
- compass;
- screwdriver;
- self-tapping screws;

The master was going to build a shelf for storing dry food on the left side of the wardrobe. For supports, he used a spruce board 50x250 mm. The shelves themselves are made of some unknown wood that came from recycled materials. First of all, the master dismissed the board to the desired size.

Then he passed the resulting construction lumber through the planer to get a smoother surface.

Then he forced his wife to note where she would like to have shelves. For this purpose, she used the cereal box as a guide to get the correct shelf height for her.

Then the master cuts out the grooves where the shelves should be located.

After that, the master sawed this board into three bars, each about 4 cm wide.

At the next stage of the work, the master carved four shelves from a wooden shield, which used to be part of a coffee table, painted by someone in black.

The master does not like to use painted wood, as well as to remove old paint from it. But for these shelves black paint did not matter.

Two more shelves were made from another wooden shield, which used to be part of the chest of drawers.

But one of the shelves was too short. Therefore, the master decided to build it up. He carved a kind of groove-stud connection to add the missing piece of wood to the end of the shelf and thus increase the shelf to the desired size.

This connection is not very accurate. Processing the spike on both sides, the inset turned out to be slightly narrower on one side than on the other.

But the master fitted it, partially making several cuts on the spike in parts, in order to make it correspondingly narrower on one side only.This connection did not have a perfect fit, but he managed to crash.

One of the corners at the shelves will be open, so the master rounded them on a band saw. Previously, he noted the cut line on a plastic cup.

The groove near the corner on the shelf is the landing slot for one of the racks into which you want to fit the shelf. This rack will be located directly behind the wardrobe door frame (the wardrobe door has a lining inside and out).

And two more samples at the other end of the shelves for two more racks.

At the bottom, the master needed to cut out part of the racks figuratively in order to place them in a dense skirting board. He used a compass as a repeater for the baseboard. In turn, the pencil repeated the shape of the plinth on the board. Then the master cut out the shape of the baseboard, compared it with the original, and then used this pattern to draw the outline on the rack itself.

The shelves are now ready for assembly. Fixing shelves on the first of the racks.

The master laid the rack on the floor to install the racks on the other side. It took a little tapping with a mallet, as the shelves entered the racks very tightly, but after that one of the racks just fell apart. The master later decided to glue this rack together.

But then, hitting the counter a little more, the block fell apart in another place, where it would not be so easy to glue it again. This board was made of spruce, and it is quite fragile and light wood.

The master removed the broken part of the rack, and in its place made a new part of the maple bar. Maple is much heavier. The master connected the parts of the bars using an overhead connection, which he cut out manually on the parts that were intact and already glued into place.
After assembly, the master pulled off all glued parts with clamps so as not to worry about anything else.

Then the master added a facade strip on each shelf. On the shelves it will be possible to put packages of rice, beans and lentils, and this cornice will be as a limiter so that food does not fall.

Shelf installation. Fits. But it turns out that the lower part of the dressing room is a little deeper than the upper, so that the shelves are about a centimeter from the wall at the bottom. You can never count on the fact that the walls of the house are perfectly rectangular. The master thinks that an alternative would be to screw the racks to the wall, and then trim each shelf to the desired size.

He screwed the top of the rack through the counter into the wall, and the bottom to the baseboard.

If it were free-lying shelves, then one would have to worry, but since they are fixed on both sides, they will hold on.

Half an hour later, the rack is already full of things to the top.

Built-in wardrobe rack

The shelf is made by the individual order of the spouse, so she optimally uses the available space. From the shelves open in front, it is relatively easy to get what is located on them.

If you like homemade author, then try to repeat and make. Thank you for attention. See you soon!

This is until Korolev read the article .... have fun from the heart
Yes, I read the beginning, and just too lazy to read further! I thought that if

then for storage of what then does he use the toilet? scratch
Mustache, had to say goodbye to Varenik ...
I hope in the future his reincarnation will not creep out ...
This is while Korolev did not read the article .... have fun from the heart.

Personally, I laughed to tears over some points.

The WASTER xaxa spouse to note where she would like to have shelves. The master has gorgeous wood processing machines, and he scored spruce boards on the HARDWARE. xaxa He made a shelf, began to push, hit with a mallet, and the shelf fell apart xaxa But he was not taken aback, INCREASED her. xaxa He began to put in place, but she did not go xaxa Kick.
Grease in quantum superposition? xaxa
The shelf is made to order by the spouse, so she optimally uses the available space.

Hmm. spouse occupies optimal space.
