The master who made these fuel briquettes is engaged in woodworking and is fond of ace. When processing wood, a lot of by-products, chips, sawdust are generated. This is a light combustible material, which, unfortunately, quickly gets wet or swells with the wind. Previously, the master burned shavings, but one day he was visited by a successful idea to try to make fuel briquettes from them for hiking.
Tools and materials:
-Shavings;
-Paraffin;
- Candle wicks;
-Water;
- Thermo-glue;
-Electric stove;
-Two tanks;
-Form for cupcakes;
Step One: Chips
As already mentioned, the basis for briquettes will be chips. The master collects enough chips in the workshop.
Step Two: Water Bath
Next you need to prepare a water bath. Turn on the hotplate and place a container of water on it.
Step Three: Paraffin
Now you need to beat the paraffin into small pieces and place it in a container. Place the container in boiling water and leave until melted.
Step Four: Wicks
Slices a wax wick into pieces of five centimeters. Glues them with hot glue in the center of the molds.
As a wick, you can use a cotton rope previously lowered into molten paraffin and dried or, according to the same technology, a cardboard wick.
Step Five: Fill
It will interfere with the shavings, tamping. It is necessary to ensure that the wick is in the center.
Slowly fills the mold with paraffin. It is necessary that paraffin spills the entire depth of the briquette.
After the paraffin has frozen, it is necessary to remove the briquettes from the molds. You can use a wooden or rubber mallet.
All is ready. Now you can throw a few briquettes in a backpack and use them at the next halt. The same briquettes can be used for igniting fireplaces, barbecues, etc.
