With the independent manufacture of cutting boards, tables, wooden objects that come in contact with food, the question arises of how to cover the product. To be sure that the coating is 100% food, you can follow the advice of the master and prepare the coating yourself.
To make it, you need the following ingredients:
1 lb (453 grams) beeswax
4 pounds (1812 grams) of mineral oil
You will also need: slow cooker (or "water bath"), ladle (or "pear"), metal cans.
Beeswax can be purchased either from beekeepers or online stores. Mineral oil can be of any brand, the main condition is pure oil, without impurities and additives.
Pours oil into the capacity of the multicooker and pours beeswax into the oil.
Turns on the multicooker at the highest temperature and covers the cup with a lid. Periodically, it is necessary to mix the contents.
After about 30 minutes, the wax should melt. Then the master pours it into jars.
After the coating has solidified, the jars should be closed with lids and stored in a cool place.
Such a composition can cover both new boards and old ones. The master coats the board and leaves it overnight. Overnight, the impregnation is absorbed into the wood. The next day polishes the product.
