Flower pot with waterfall and backlight

Greetings to fans of craftsmanship, today we will look at how to assemble an interesting flower pot with a built-in waterfall and backlight. Looks homemade excellent, the atmosphere of coziness and exotic is immediately created at home. In the assembly, homemade is quite simple, foam is used as the base, which is finished with cement mortar on top. The water in the system circulates in a circle, responsible for this small pump. If you are interested in the project, I propose to study it in more detail!

Materials and tools used by the author:

Material List:
- polystyrene (sheets);
- cement mortar;
- plumbing pipe and corner connection;
- flexible tube;
- cement mortar;
- fiberglass (or similar material for reinforcement);
- small pump (available at 5V);
- pebbles;
- LEDs;
- glue or sealant for pipes.

Tool List:
- soldering iron;
- stationery knife;
- tape measure, marker;
- a brush.

Homemade manufacturing process:

Step one. Case manufacture and pipe installation
Foam is used as a body for homemade work; you will need several sheets of suitable thickness. We cut a window in the center of the sheets, and here our waterfall will flow.

Next, we need to lay a water supply system, in the upper pipe we need to drill or burn rows of holes with a soldering iron. Through these holes water will flow. The upper pipe is connected to the vertical using a 90 degree connector. Joints can be glued or sealant used.

At the pipe inlet, we install a fitting and connect a flexible pipe, a pump is connected to this tube. Pipes are installed in the groove, which the author burned with a soldering iron. At the end we glue all the layers and get the finished base.

Step Two Cementing
Now we start cementing, as a result we get a durable coating that will not pass water to the foam. First, apply a thin layer of the solution and lay the fiberglass or ordinary gauze in several layers. We apply another layer on top and wait until it hardens. If you wish, you can make several layers of reinforcement, and instead of concrete, you can use gypsum plaster, putty or something like that.

In conclusion, the author applies an outer thick layer of concrete, forming the desired pattern. After the solution has hardened, you can perform light sanding with sandpaper and cover everything with liquid glass or another protective layer.

Step Three Assembly and testing
We assemble the homemade product, put pebbles on the bottom, connect and hide the pump.The author also posted the LEDs as a backlight. LEDs can be immersed in water with open contacts if the water is distilled.

In the upper part there is a niche, we load the earth into it and plant a flower. That's all, pour some water into the bottom, turning on the pump. As soon as the water began to circulate, it is enough in the system.

Everything looks beautiful, now the air in the room will be perfectly moistened. Of course, homemade work has a side effect, from such sounds you will often want "little by little".

The project is completed on this, I hope you liked the homemade work, and you found useful thoughts for yourself. Good luck and creative inspiration, if you decide to repeat this. Do not forget to share your ideas and homemade things with us!

Mental work, only I would try to give the form and texture of natural stone, otherwise it is somehow very rectangular and concrete, although this is a matter of everyone’s taste.
