A home-made swamp was created in St. Petersburg for hunting and fishing trips. By the way, this goal is pursued during the construction of about 80% of home-made swamps. For all its miniature size, it can rightfully be considered a swamp, as really overcomes them, these very swamps. In the video below, the swamp will be clearly visible, and how it overcomes them.
A very interesting way to increase buoyancy and patency was used in the construction of this homemade. They put paired KAMAZ cameras and added a protector to the harnesses like caterpillar ones - from scraps of PVC pipes. It turned out very wonderful! Disks are made, as always in homemade products, to the desired size using the Zhiguli disk as the basis.
Weighing only 250 kg, it accelerates to a speed of 50 km / h. Relatively not a lot, but if you take into account the fact that when driving through the swamps, speed is by no means the dominant factor, then it’s very good!
A fracture with a 150 cm3 scooter engine is an excellent easy home-made swamp. The fracture unit was made independently - pipes, a sleeve machined on a lathe for reamer, as well as part of the steering bipod from the Zhiguli were used. All on high-quality welding.
Transmission from Skoda - four-stage + rear. This gearbox weighs only about 15 kg. Engine from a scooter, volume 150cm3. Power is enough to overcome 50 degree climbs in fourth gear.
With the weight distribution, this swamp is not as rosy as it seems at first glance, but at the same time it is not critical. The fact is that the unevenly distributed weight of the structure leads to the immersion of the front part of the swamp in the water deeper than the back, which in turn is pushed out of the water.
It’s not necessary to study such a swamp-drive anywhere else, but if you want to acquire special skills in driving special equipment in difficult places, some driving schools teach this as additional courses and extra-curricular seminars.
