Carrying out these works is rarely complete without formwork.
Formwork is a system designed to shape concrete or reinforced concrete structures erected at the construction site.
Formwork is:
Removable (collapsible) - removed after setting the monolithic structure.
Fixed (non-separable) - after drying the concrete becomes part of the structure.
In order to make the formwork yourself, you do not need to spend a lot of effort and time. Currently, the building materials market has a wide selection of collapsible metal structures for the construction of formwork, consisting of metal plates. Such structures are easily attached to each other and allow you to create a perfectly flat surface, thereby reducing the time and money spent on further finishing.
If you decide to make the formwork yourself, then it will take more time, and you should also stock up with plywood shields or boards, bars and nails.
To begin with, we measure the sides of the poured form and construct shields from boards of the required size, or cut these shields from plywood. Further, supporting bars are driven into the ground, on which, in turn, shields are attached from the inside and fixed with nails. For added strength, it is recommended that the formwork be secured on the outside with spacers in increments of approximately 1 meter. During the manufacture of formwork, it is necessary to take into account the horizontalness and verticality of its sides using the level. Be sure to check that the formwork is in a vertical plane, and also do not allow it to be tilted vertically. Remember that the evenness of the walls of the future structure depends on the correct calculation of all the data.
After completing the assembly of the formwork, you can proceed to the process of pouring the foundation itself.
