Using an ordinary electric drill, you can squeeze out various kinds of small products from thin sheet metal. True, first you have to do a simple device (fig. 1).

Prepare a wooden base and fix the drill stand and wooden block on it. Drill 3-4 holes with a depth of about 50 mm on the upper side of the bar. In them you will insert a metal emphasis rod with a diameter of 5-6 mm. It should protrude from the hole by 15-20 mm and can be freely removed. Insert the faceplate into the drill chuck (Fig. 1) and fasten the wooden workpiece with the screws. Treat it with chisels so that you get a cylinder-matrix with a recess that repeats the shape of the future product. For work, you will need several steel rods with a diameter of 8-10 mm and a length of about 250 mm. Make a special tool out of them - crushboards. To do this, sharpen the ends of the rods under a spherical shape of various diameters (from 1 to 15 mm), carefully treat them with sandpaper, polish. When everything is ready, get to work. Attach a metal plate pre-annealed for greater ductility to the matrix with four screws. The material can be thin sheet copper, soft aluminum with a thickness of 0.3-0.5 mm and even tin from a can. Grease the workpiece with petroleum jelly and turn on the drill. Bring the center of the workpiece to the workpiece and, pressing it simultaneously to the workpiece and to the stop, gradually move the working part towards you. As you pull the mold, rearrange the emphasis from one hole to another. Note that during extrusion, the metal becomes stiff and can break. Therefore, in the manufacture of deep forms, such as for example a lampshade, from time to time remove the workpiece from the template and subject it to intermediate annealing. At the end of extrusion, the product is removed from the template and cut with scissors.
