I asked several acquaintances at once.
Namely 4 species.
And there’s one more!
The principle of grafting and growing juniper is the same as cypress. But if someone has not read my previous article about planting cypress-I will stay in more detail.
It is enough to take young shoots, preferably semi-lignified. This is when the bottom of the handle is already in the bark, and the top is very young and green.
As soon as we brought our cuttings home, we need to free the lower part of each of them. To do this, free the lower part of the shoot from branches and needles for 7-10 centimeters.
If you plan to plant your shoots not immediately, but say at the weekend at the cottage or the weather did not allow you to put our cuttings in water. So they can even stand for a long time, the main thing is to add some water every day, since conifers love moisture and drink it quickly.
If nothing bothers you and you decide to immediately plant the cuttings in the ground, then we go to the flowerbed.
We make a hole of 10 centimeters deep.
We moisturize it, put our stalk and sprinkle it with earth. Gently ram the soil around the shoot. Thus, you deepen the stalk by 7-10 centimeters into the ground. Then you must definitely water it well.
If you have cuttings of small stature, short, young and weak, then it is necessary to cover them with cut plastic bottles to root.
You can plant conifers at any time: in spring, autumn or summer. And it turns out that conifers are the easiest to root.
If your stalk is rooted, then replanting it is not advisable. Therefore, immediately consider the distance between the bushes. The diameter of an adult juniper bush reaches up to 3 meters. On average, the diameter is 2-2.5 meters. Therefore, the distance between the bushes should be at least 2 meters.
At the moment, I am diligently studying various literature, communicating with experienced people about caring for conifers, their diseases, pests and so on. As soon as I collect the knowledge I need, I will immediately share it with you, since so far not everything has been recognized.
