You probably know that if you try to fish in shallow water or in heavily overgrown ponds, then such an amazing surface fishing bait as a popper can really help out. Make it do it yourself.
Step 1.
We will need a squared bar-like fish. We adjust the parameters of the bar to the original form, given the allowance for grinding. Try to create smooth surfaces as well as right angles all the time. Indeed, the quality of the work of our new fish bait will depend on the accuracy and symmetry of the Popper made.
Then we draw with a marker the contour of the popper and then we cut it out (cut it out), but without fail with an allowance for its further grinding.
Step 2
We must symmetrically saw through the center of the abdomen of the fish simulator with a metal sheet with a symmetrical groove (not yet deep - 1-2mm deep). We need it to bookmark fittings and ballast.
Do not depart from the dimensions of the sample.
Step 3
Round in turn all the corners of the product. As from the side of the abdomen of the fish.
So from the side of her back.
Compare with the original, achieving complete resemblance to it. We grind the product with sandpaper and after that we groove the groove on the abdomen deeply.
Step 4
But we will make a fish blade from plexiglas, of a necessarily bright color, say, up to 4 mm thick. First, we warm it over the fire and make an extrusion on it as in fig. This can be done by putting plexiglass on the corresponding hole. For such a hole, for example, the center from the circle of electrical tape or adhesive tape, which are nearby, is suitable.
We cut the necessary part
We bring it to condition and then grind it ..
In front, at the end, we make a recess so that the blade joins without any gap.
Next, we need a stainless steel wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm. And a small strip of lead for ballast. Note that the thickness of the lead strip with little friction should go into the sawn groove.
Using a pair of pliers and round-nose pliers, we make a frame, and then insert, as can be seen in the figure, it into the resulting abdominal cut.
Step 5
Next, we drill a hole in the blades: the slider, for which we will insert our popper, should be located on the original. We take super-glue and fix the blade. At the same time, we observe the correct position and symmetry of the original itself.

Step 6
Add lead to the groove on the abdomen of the fish simulator, while achieving the desired bait location when it enters the water. As you can see, balancing is not such a difficult thing. We pull out the weights, and then insert them again, but with epoxy. We fill it with the groove on the abdomen. On top of the product can be sprinkled with fine sawdust left over from grinding.
We give the resin to dry, cut off the remains of it with a file. Grind the surface of the product. If dents occur during work, we remove them as well. Large flaws can be eliminated with a putty made from epoxy resin and sawdust.
