First you need a plug and two 3.5 mm mini-jack connectors, a pair of three- or four-wire copper wires, a soldering iron, wire cutters, tin and flux, which does not require rinsing after soldering, since after that the wires begin to oxidize very quickly .

First of all, you need to cut 10 cm from the main wire, it will serve as a fork for us for the second connector. Next, we clean the ends of the wires with wire cutters or any other tool convenient for you, twist a little and coat with flux. We begin to tin, adding a little tin. We perform the same procedure with the plug and connectors: apply flux to the contacts and proceed to tinning. The main work has already been done and we can only connect the wires. Photos with pinouts and wiring diagrams are presented below.

The plug has an oblong contact for the common channel, in the center of the left channel, on the side - from the right. The pinout of the connector is slightly different: the rounded contact is from the left channel, the square contact is from the right channel and the oblong contact is common.

It is advisable to make a knot at the end of the wire before starting to solder, since with frequent use of this device, soldering places can be accidentally torn off.

First, we put a connector on a short wire and solder the ends of the wire to the contacts of the plug in accordance with the diagram, assemble the connector.

Next, we take the second end of the short wire and the end of the long one, we put the second connector on both. We twist the same wires and solder to the contacts of the plug, as has just been done. We check whether everything is neatly done and assemble the connector.

On the remaining end of the long wire we put on the plug parts, make a bundle and begin to solder the wires to the contacts in accordance with the diagram. We assemble the plug.

Well, that’s all, our splitter is ready and can be used as an extension cord for speakers, headphones and a microphone. Also, using it, you can connect two microphones (thus, we get stereo) or two pairs of headphones.
Such a device can be purchased in a store with a long wire of a maximum of 20 cm and use it, unfortunately, will not work, unlike with your own hands.
