Consider the materials we need:
- A drive from an old computer;
- Normal ballpoint pen with threaded tip;
- cling film;
- Plastic epoxy;
- And also the mobile phone itself (preferably with a higher resolution of the rear camera).
Let's get started. First of all, we take our old drive to remove the lens and mirror that the drive uses to read information from the drives. It should be noted here that not every lens can fit, since some can distort the patterns around the edges. Having disassembled the drive, you can easily remove the lens and mirror that are mounted on the holders.
Next, take our handle and saw off the threaded assembly. Thus we get a small screw with its own nut.
The next thing we need to stick the lens from the drive to the screwing part of the ballpoint pen. You can use ordinary super glue for this, but you need to be extremely careful and not rush so as not to damage the lens. For ease of process, you can carry a means for removing glue.
The lens blank is ready. You can begin to create the body. The case should ideally sit on the phone, so you need to collect it on the phone case. To do this, we wrap our mobile phone with cling film so as not to damage it. It is necessary to use food wrap, since others are thicker and can cause inaccuracy.
Next, we take a plastic epoxy and sculpt the body of our nozzle. The mirror must be placed strictly at an angle of 45 degrees above the LED backlight of the mobile phone.
The lens that we fixed on our nut must be placed above the camera’s camera lens. As mentioned above, it is very important that the nozzle body exactly repeats the surface of the phone.
It is up to you to decide exactly what shape the nozzle body will be, since your own imagination and your own taste are important here.
Well, the nozzle that turns the phone’s camera into a microscope is ready. It remains only to screw the lens into the nut and slightly adjust it so that the photos do not turn out to be too blurry. When using the nozzle, it must be fixed to the housing. To do this, you can use the usual stationery gum, or you can even design your own case. Here again, your own desire is important.
