Made do it yourself furniture always pleasing to the eye. In addition, this gives you the opportunity to set yourself the dimensions and shape of the stool you need, come up with some unusual peculiar details. And after he is completely ready - beautifully paint or make a decoupage.
First, let's watch the video:
Materials and tools:
- plywood sheet, 18mm thick;
- circular;
- ruler;
- a pencil;
- compass;
- manual electric planer;
- a mill;
- drill;
- super glue or resin.
Plywood is not necessary to take a new one, you can take the one that you may have left after the repair. If there are any spots on the surface of the sheet from old paint or putty, do not worry, this is all easily removed with sandpaper.
The stool is supposed to be made without the use of nails and screws. So, first of all, we mark up the sheet.
We begin the layout of the contour of the details of the future stool from the most even straight side of the plywood sheet.
First, the total height of the stool should be noted, it will be about 430 mm, the width of the seat is about 350 mm and the height of the legs, which should preferably be slightly less than the seat, is 250-300 mm. We mark out only two parts for cutting the legs, while the top is slightly rounded and grooves 18 mm wide are marked on each part, so that the groove on one is in the middle below and on the second in the middle above.
The third part will be the seat itself in the shape of a circle, with a diameter of 450mm.
After the marking of the future stool of the shape you need is applied to the plywood sheet, we begin to carefully cut out all the drawn details with a circular. Try to move clearly along the drawn lines, take your time.
First you need to cut the parts only on straight lines. The grooves, roundings and the seat part itself should be cut with a manual electric plane.
After the parts are cut, you need to check how they fit together. And with the help of a milling cutter or simple sandpaper we make chamfers on the details and process them with sandpaper.
To assemble a stool without nails and screws, we outline on the workpiece the attachment points of the seat to the legs.
According to the marking, shallow holes are drilled in the legs and the saddle, wooden pins are inserted into them.
The holes and the pins themselves are smeared with glue or resin, the seat part is pressed to the legs until the glue dries.
After it dries, the excess is removed with a sandpaper.
