A night lamp is a necessity in every home, because sometimes you just want to lie down and read a book or magazine without disturbing others from sleeping. However, a nightlight these days can become not only a source of lighting, but also a decorative element that can decorate a bedroom or a children's room. A decorative nightlight, of course, can be purchased in almost any store, but a truly original and unique nightlight can be built with your own hands in home conditions.
We offer to see the process of making a miniature nightlight in the author’s video, after which we will try to repeat the process with our own hands.
So, in order to make a nightlight, we need:
- Light-emitting diode;
- Battery;
- Charger;
- Aluminum soda can;
- A piece of cardboard;
- A sketch of the inscription;
- the needle;
- scissors;
- Pencil;
- switch;
- Battery connector.
Materials are ready, you can get to work. First of all, we need to cut off the top of the aluminum jar.
The upper part is cut off, now you need to take care of the cover for this hole. To do this, take a piece of cardboard, put the jar with a hole on the cardboard and draw a contour with a pencil.
The resulting circle is cut off with scissors.
The cap is ready, but we will not use it that way, since we have to make two holes on it. One will be for the switch, and the second for the battery connector.
For better fixing of the connector and the switch, you can glue them to the cardboard cover with a glue gun.
The next thing we need to remove from the wires coming from the battery, the protective layers so that they can connect the switch and the LED.
We connect all the wires and isolate. For insulation, again, you can use hot melt.
The complex is left behind. Now we just have to attach a sketch with an inscription on the side of the jar and transfer it to the jar, making holes with a needle. For the best effect, make sure that the lid remains at the bottom, that is, the can should stand upside down.Also, for better lighting, you can make several or even many holes on the jar in addition to the inscription holes.
We connect all the parts, glue the lid with hot glue, turn on the nightlight and admire it.
