When you come to the cottage, friends and neighbors often come to visit you, since country the season falls just on the warmest time of the year, then you want to chat and relax with friends in the fresh air. And in order to fully relax, you need a small table on which you can put freshly prepared barbecue for guests.
It is not always convenient to pull the table from the house to the street, and it is not always possible to purchase a new table for the cottage. But you can make a beautiful round table do it yourself from the remnants of materials, unnecessary boards and decks.
In order to see what you can get as a result and the principle of work, look at the video suggested just below, for clarity:
For the table, prepare:
- trimming small boards;
- a deck;
- hammer;
- nails, screws;
- saw;
- grinder;
- a chisel;
- electric jigsaw.
When all the materials are ready for work, we proceed directly to the manufacture of the table.
To begin with, we need to choose a deck of the right height, approximately 60-70cm. Trim on both sides and give it stability. Check if the surface is tilted.
Then we determine which part of the deck will be the base and which is mounted under the countertop. For a stable foundation, we need two edged boards 7 cm long. We cut them out forming stable legs that will connect to each other cross to cross.
At the base of the deck, we cut out the grooves for the legs, for this we use a grinder. We cut out the grooves with a chisel.
We connect two boards, we fix the connection with nails. Next, we drive crosswise connected boards into the inside of the sawn grooves. For reliability, everything is fixed with screws.
After that, we proceed to the creation of countertops. We take exactly the same two boards as for the base. We cut out two parallel grooves into the decks and clean them with a chisel.
Edged boards are inserted into these grooves and fixed with self-tapping screws. Edged boards are laid on top of the fixed boards, slightly larger than the estimated diameter of the countertop. Everything is mounted on nails or screws.
Additionally, we strengthen the design with two transverse trim strips from the bottom.
After all the boards are fixed, draw a circle outline from above, the shape of the proposed tabletop. Using an electric jigsaw, we cut out the marked contour, cutting off all unnecessary.
After that, the edges are well cleaned.
