In the country, we not only grow vegetables and fruits, but also relax. And to make the rest more comfortable, you need the simplest country furniture outside. There is no point in buying a new one. Therefore, we offer you to make the most necessary of improvised materials yourself.
And in order to make it easier for you to understand what kind of furniture you can make from old lying logs in the country, we offer you a small and interesting video.
For the manufacture of furniture we need:
- a cut of the trunk of a large tree;
- drill;
- stakes;
- saw;
- nails;
- hammer;
- knife;
- a screwdriver.
Getting to the table.
We select the side with the most even surface on our trunk cut. This will be the surface of the table. On its reverse side we will install the legs.
To do this, take a drill and drill holes for the legs. We will have four legs, so there should be as many holes. We make the depth a little more than half the width of our slice. And the width of the holes should be 2-3 cm. During drilling, do not forget to remove the sawdust from the holes.
We need to prepare the legs. To do this, take the stakes and exaggerate them on one side, making them look like slightly sharpened pencils. We align them in height, sawing off the excess. Moreover, it is not at all necessary that they be the same in form. Roughnesses and curvature of the legs will give the future table a true author's style. When sharpening, make sure that only the pointed ends of the stakes are approximately equal to the width of the holes, after which the pointed part should thicken.
We drive the prepared legs one by one into the drilled holes in the cut of the tree. We do this slowly, trying not to overdo it with pressure so as not to split the base or the leg itself.
After the legs are driven in for safety, we fix them with nails or self-tapping screws from the inside of the legs with a screwdriver.
Our homemade cottage table is ready. By exactly the same principle, you can make a garden bench to it.
