How to make a simple wooden bed

The bed is the main subject of furniturethat every person needs. Furniture sales and production shops tear at exorbitant beds. If you order all the materials with a cut and fasten yourself, then you will get the same high quality bed for a ridiculous price.

In order to make a bed, we need:
- board 200x30x200 -2 pcs;
- board 200x30x1400 - 3 pcs;
- board 50x50x500 - 2 pcs;
- board 50x50x70 - 2 pcs;
- board 50x50x300 - 1 pc;
- board 50x30x2000 - 3 pcs;
- board 50х10х1380 - 15pcs;
- 3 types of furniture corners 70x60 cm;
- corners 35x30 cm - 8 pcs;
- corners 20x15 - 15 pcs;
- self-tapping screws for wood 3x30 –1 10pcs;
- 4.5x40 screws - 10 pcs;
- dowels 10 pcs;
- screwdriver;
- drill;
- hammer;
- jigsaw;
- drill;
- construction stapler.




To fix the legs, we need to make two holes in the corner for self-tapping screws. In order to avoid cracking of wood, it is better to drill it under self-tapping screws.


You should start from the head. To do this, take a drill and drill holes for dowels. Then we connect boards 1 and 2 with ordinary PVA glue.


After that, we can assemble the frame of our future bed. For this we will use furniture corners, with which we will connect all the boards together.


Next, we make new holes for the diameter of the dowels already in the legs and board 1. Then we glue the legs, fix with screws.


The next thing we need to drag the screws and attach additional furniture corners at the bottom. Now is the time to hide everything with varnish, and if desired, you can still tint.


The frame is assembled and painted, now we proceed to install the strips that will hold the mattress of our bed. To do this, we need to fix the bar 50 * 30cm to the boards in the side. After that, we attach the middle bar, as well as the leg to it. At this stage, you need to make sure that the height of the bar is pre-adjusted to the size of the bed.


The bed is actually ready, because at this step it remains only to take care of the slats that need to be laid out on the bars.It is important that the strips are laid out at an equal distance from each other. And finally, we fasten the screws, we connect our strips with a tape, and we fasten the tape itself with a construction stapler. All our bed is ready and you can sleep on it.
