Today we will tell you about a small metal vice, which in home conditions will make the key. It is very difficult to repeat the pattern with dimples that run along the entire length of the key. You can, of course, use an ordinary vise, hold a key in them and knock out a hole with a sharp object. This is very unprofitable, since the key still slides off when you knock it all out, even there have been cases where the keys have broken. To make a key, we need:
- key blank;
- homemade vise;
- file;
- machine for cutting grooves.

Expensive machines cost 5 - 4 thousand hryvnias and you won’t know if this business will work for you. And such home-made vices are several times cheaper, and the effect of use is the same.
One key is done in about two hours. If the recesses in the form of points are knocked out by a file, then the grooves will have to be measured and cut with a special device.
Such a vice is sold in stores, ordered from masters or made independently. They are not expensive, and you can easily try to make a vise at home.
