From time to time we need a welding machine. How exactly can make a simple welding machine at home, we found out in one of the past materials. However, it is simply impossible to use a welding machine without electrodes, therefore, in addition to the previous material, we present to your attention a lesson on making a home-made welding electrode.

We will need:
- liquid glass;
- a piece of chalk;
- 3-4 mm wire;
- a brush.
Liquid glass is not as difficult to find as it might seem at first glance. Such glass is sold in almost any hardware store. Everything is clear with the materials, and this means that we can begin the process of manufacturing our electrode.
First we need to grind the chalk into a fine fraction. To do this, put pieces of chalk in a blender and turn it on.
Next, align our wire and rod mode. At this stage, you need to try to make the bars smooth.
Now we smear liquid glass on the rods. To do this, simply put the rods on a flat surface, wet the brush in liquid glass and apply it to pieces of wire.
Next up, pour chalk chopped in our blender onto our rod.
Now we are trying to roll everything evenly.
Our electrode is almost ready. At this stage, we just need to wait until it dries. After our electrode has hardened and the liquid glass has thickened on it, we need to calcine it. To do this, put the electrode in an ordinary oven.
Turn on the oven and set to a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius. Put the electrodes in the oven for half an hour. This time is enough for liquid glass to solidify.
Externally, a home-made electrode is different from the factory one. The first difference is its color. In addition, it rolls a little, but this feature does not interfere with the welding process. The author’s test of a homemade electrode shows that he copes with his task perfectly.
