Modification of personal equipment today is becoming increasingly popular. The secret of the popularity of such a hobby is that it allows you to get unique models of technology that will allow their owner to stand out from the crowd. Almost everything can be modified or modded - phones, tablets, computers and even headphones. It is about the headphones that will be discussed in this material.
As always, the first thing we bring to your attention is a video with a detailed description of the modification process
What do we need:
- headphones;
- film of any color;
- building hair dryer;
- screwdriver;
- alcohol;
- cotton wool;
- a primer.
When choosing a film, you need to make sure that it is suitable for tightening onto plastic products. You also need to pay attention to the fact that the color of the selected film is combined with the overall color gamut of the headphones, so when choosing a film, it is advised to bring headphones with you to check everything in place. As for the author of the video, he uses a matte graphite film, which also dilutes the black color of the headphones, giving them a more pleasant appearance.
First, we need to disassemble our headphones. Since we will glue the film to change the appearance on the plastic parts of the headphones, when disassembling it is necessary to free them from the remaining parts and parts as much as possible. In places, you may need the help of a screwdriver.
After disassembling, you can safely proceed to the main work, namely to hauling the headphones with a film. Before you start hauling necessarily need to degrease the surface. We will add from us that this can be done with ordinary alcohol and cotton wool.
We apply a primer to the corners of the plastic construction, which will provide greater resistance and the film will not stick to the edges over time.
We turn on the building hair dryer and extremely carefully align the film so that it lies as evenly as possible. A building hair dryer is needed in order to avoid bubbles under the film. We add that the film needs to be cut with a margin at the edges.
In this way, the sides and the headband of the headphones can be covered with foil. Thanks to this modding, you can get an original design, and at the same time maintain the integrity of the plastic, which often begins to scratch after several days of using headphones.
