We make a concrete lamp at home

Design ideas continue to amaze even now, when it is difficult for humanity to surprise with something new. Concrete is used in the construction of houses, high-rise buildings, walls and much more. But what if we suggest that you use concrete for other purposes and make it an original designer lamp?

We will learn how to do this and how such a lamp will look right now, but before work we suggest watching an author’s video, which, although in English, is understandable.



So we need:
- two plastic bottles;
- concrete mix;
- wood screws;
- 3/8 inch bolt;
- nuts
- a cartridge for a bulb with a wire;
- drill;
- a drill.



Just note that one of the two plastic bottles should be thinner than the second. Let's get started.

First of all, we need to drill holes along the diameter of the bolt on the corks from plastic bottles.


Next, cut off the bottom of a large bottle.


Now we put the bolt through the holes on the lids of the large and small bottles so that the big bottle is outside and the small one is inside.


At this stage, we need to make sure that the small bottle is held strictly in the center. To do this, we fix it with several wood screws, which we fasten to a large bottle.


Add water to the concrete mixture and mix everything thoroughly.


Now we pour the resulting concrete into the space between the two bottles.

In order for concrete to properly fill the space, periodically shake our bottles. It is also very important to ensure that no bubbles remain in the concrete.

We leave our concrete lamp to dry for about a day.

When the concrete has dried, remove the screws with which we attached a small bottle.


Now remove the bottles from our concrete fixture. To do this, with the help of a clerical knife, make cuts on a large bottle and remove it in pieces.


The next thing we remove is a small bottle.


Pull the wire from the cartridge through the hole on the top of the concrete lamp, wind the bulb and connect the cartridge to a power source.


Now our original lamp is ready, and we can decorate the cottage with it, garage and even a room in the house, and at the same time boast to friends and acquaintances of their own design work.
