Making a speargun at home

So what we need:
- wooden block;
- iron rod;
- thin and strong rope;
- self-tapping screws for wood;
- 2 pipes;
- thread;
- powerful harness.

He removed the wooden block used by the author from an old wooden stool. However, the most important in the design are tubes, which should be tri-diameter of the first outside should be equal to 9.5 mm, and from the inside - 7.5 mm, the diameter of the second outside should be 6 mm, and from the inside - 4 mm. As for the thread, its diameter should be 4 mm. Thus, the thread should be easily inserted into a small tube, and a small one into a large one.

First of all, we need to bend the iron rod to the size of a wooden bar so that it fits onto the bar.

Next, you need to take care of the mount for our rod. To do this, the author uses tin parts like arches.

Next, we saw off the extra piece so that the resulting part becomes uniform.

Now we take the drum from a regular adhesive plaster and drill a hole for the diameter of the rope on it.

Lighter singe the end of the rope and push it through the hole.

At the end we knit one knot.

We wind the rope on the drum.

Take a drum with a rope and put it on a rod that will serve as a handle.

We attach the handle to the bar, but before that we measure the approximate distance so that the drum can freely “walk”.

Next, we take a pipe of large diameter, which will serve as a guide for the boom.

In order to minimize friction, the author advises not to use it along its entire length, but to cut two pieces to fit the fasteners.

We drill holes for the diameter of the screws and fix the pieces of the pipe. We check that the pipe of small diameter freely moves along the guide.

Now you can start making the boom.The length of the boom depends on the length of the tow. In the author, for example, the tourniquet reaches the end of the bar.

In order to attach the tourniquet, you can use the usual plastic tension, which we fasten the tourniquet on the handle of the drum.

The arrow is on the thread, so we wind the lock nut upside down on it.

Next, we put a washer, a rope on the nut, on the other end of which we wind another knot.

On top of the rope, insert another washer and wind another lock nut.

Next, take another nut, wrap it on the arrow.

We insert two washers for soldering the wires and fix it with one more nut.

We bend the washers for soldering wires down so that the arrow passes only forward.

Finally we sharpen our arrow.
