Making a bookshelf from a book

In one of the previous materials we examined A method of manufacturing hangers and hangersthat at first glance sounded quite extraordinary and paradoxical. Continuing the theme of paradoxical homemade, we want to bring to your attention one more homemade product that our readers with creative thinking will definitely like and will not like for book lovers and librarians. This completes the introductory part and move on to homemade work.

First of all, as always, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the video about the author of the homemade product, after which we will repeat the whole process together with our own hands.

So what we need:
- any unnecessary book;
- glue;
- the loop;
- a pencil;
- stationery knife.

The materials that we will use to make our shelves and books are likely to be found by everyone, so we will begin production without delay.

First, take a book and open it. We need a second page, which is most often the title page.

Next, we take a loop, which should be metal and "G" -shaped. The loop should be attached to the book from the outside so that the holes on it are under the thick part of the book.

When we figured out the place of fastening the loop on the book, we take a pencil and circle it, noting the place of the cut.

Now let's move on to a stage that true book lovers will not like, because at this step we have to cut a groove along the thickness of the metal. Often you will need to cut a groove on several pages.

Next, we press the book in a vice or with clamps, insert the loop into the recess and fasten it with screws.

In the end, we need to cover all the pages that we turned in the first step with glue and glue them to each other well.

At the end we close the book, which has already become a kind of shelf. Now you can safely mount it to the wall with a pair of self-tapping screws so that the "G" -shaped loop "looks" up. Thus, we get a completely non-standard solution in the interior, which can also be called a kind of visual illusion, since the viewer will at first glance think that books are hanging in the air. Such a shelf can easily support the weight of 5-6 books placed on it.
