Probably everyone motorist at least once in my life I encountered the problem of repairing the bumper of my iron horse. The author of the material offers a completely affordable solution to the problem. All we need to do is make a corner that will later be riveted to the cracked part of the bumper. Let's get started.
First of all, we take a metal piece and make markings on it. Marking should be done from the edge to the end of the crack.
Then we take the pliers and bend the corner.
Next, we mark a piece on the side of the bumper. Again, measure the distance to the end of the crack.
After that we take scissors for metal and cut off according to the mark.
We will put our corner from the inside of the bumper. However, before installation, you need to prepare the corner and the bumper itself. To do this, measure the mounting points of the rivets.
After that, we drill holes on the corner and the bumper itself.
Next, we take a drill with a larger diameter than the diameter of the holes and hand-drill the holes obtained. This is necessary so that the rivet heads do not stick out from the outside. We periodically check whether rivets fit well. We need to get the most even surface, because after such a simple repair we must putty the bumper to give it a perfect look.
When all the holes are drilled, you can safely install the rivets with a tool called a rivet.
