In the manufacture of New Year crafts and homemade Styrofoam balls are often needed. However, fist-sized foam balls are often sold in stores for about $ 3-4 a piece. It seems to the author of the homemade product that such a price for a small ball of foam is too high. We share the opinion of the author, therefore, we present to your attention useful material for the manufacture of a home-made machine for the manufacture of foam balls.

So what we need:
- stationery knife;
- sandpaper;
- polypropylene pipe;
- a drill with a cutting disc;
- foam sheet;
- glue gun.
It should be noted that the diameter of the finished foam ball will directly depend on the diameter of the polypropylene pipe: the larger the diameter of the pipe, the larger the ball will be. Also, if you don’t have a drill at hand, you can safely replace it with a hacksaw for metal.
First of all, we need to cut a polypropylene pipe. We need to cut out the top. For greater convenience, below are pictures of the marking of incisions.
The upper part we will no longer need. Next, in the resulting semicircle on the inside of the pipe, glue sandpaper. Cut a piece of the right size and glue it with a glue gun.
Our foam ball machine is ready. In order to make a ball, you need to put a foam sheet under the pipe, circle the pipe outline with a marker and cut out the circles with a clerical knife.
If the foam sheet is too thin, then this problem can be solved very easily: just take two or three blanks and glue them together with a glue gun.
We put the workpiece in a semicircle on which we stuck sandpaper and begin to grind as follows: left, right, turn a little and again in both directions. This must be done until the side is perfectly flat and round.
Next, we turn the polystyrene 90 degrees and continue grinding.The process of manufacturing foam balls is a little long and laborious, however, in this way you can make several balls, saving a lot of money.
