Webcams are used quite often these days. Many have relatives abroad who can be seen exclusively through Skype, some often organize online meetings, webinars, master classes, presentations, during which it may be necessary to transfer a picture through a webcam. Let's say your webcam is out of order, and buying a cheap Chinese is not a hunt, because it will not last a month. We offer you to make your own webcam, which will serve you well for a long time and will not fail at an important moment. And we will make the camera from a conventional camera from an old laptop.
The first step is to devote a few minutes to watching the video.
So we need:
- camera from an old laptop;
- USB plug;
- soldering iron.
It turns out that the camera from the laptop is a regular USB camera. The only difference is that it does not have an appropriate plug. When inspecting the wires of such a camera, you can see a standard set of USB wires, that is, red, black, green, white. Red and black wires are respectively positive and negative. There is nothing complicated in the process, so you can safely get to work.
We fluff the wires from the USB plug. If the wire is shielded, then we remove the film version to get to the wires themselves.
We clean the wires and solder them together.
We connect a home-made camera to the computer. The first time you connect, the computer will install the drivers for the new camera. After such a simple manipulation of the wires and the camera, you can get a fully functional webcam. The only thing to consider is that such a camera may not have a microphone, which, as a rule, has separate wires for connection.
