Home-made device to facilitate the soldering process

Today I want to tell you about how you can make a device yourself that will help you facilitate the soldering process ...

Often there are problems when you need to solder wires or something else and do not have enough hands. You need to hold the soldering iron with one hand, hold the workpiece with your other hand, which you need to solder and you also need a hand to hold the other end of the wire that you need to solder. Another problem arises when, in addition to these "three hands", you also need a fourth one that will hold a magnifying glass (for particularly small parts). Having analyzed this problem, I came to the conclusion that it can be solved with the help of a home-made device, which we will discuss today.

Let's start with the first problem: "third hand - holder"

For our entire design a small wooden beam. We take two wooden clothespins and with the help of screws we fasten them to our timber as shown in the photo:

We do not clamp the screws very much so that we can change the inclination of the clothespins.

We solved the first problem. The "third hand" is ready for soldering!

The second problem: where to put a hot soldering iron, so as not to spoil the surface of the workplace?

To solve this problem we need wire. We bend it as shown in the photo:

Next, on the side of our wooden beam, we make two small holes in diameter coinciding with the diameter of the wire and we push the ends of the wire into these holes in the beam. We get such a design here on which you can safely put a hot soldering iron:

The design is also good because it can be folded and thereby save space when storing this device:

The third problem: where to put solder and rosin?

To solve this problem we need a small metal lid from under the can. We make a hole for it and fix it on top of the beam using a self-tapping screw:

The fourth problem: When soldering very small parts, a problem arises when you need to look at the soldering process very close up. For this we need a magnifying glass and a two-wire cable.

We take the wire and tightly wrap our magnifying glass as shown in the photo:

The edge of the magnifying glass must fall precisely between the two cores of the wire (this will allow the magnifying glass to hold very well). Next, we twist the ends of the wire, thereby fixing the magnifying glass:

Now we need a "dog" from under the wooden latch, which we screw with screws to a wooden beam.

Next, we insert a magnifying glass, or rather the twisted ends of the wires, into the “dog” we screwed on. The wires are inserted quite tightly, so during operation they will not "fly out of the saddle."

That's all! Our design is ready. Now this simple device will help you to solder the part you need without any problems.

The adapt itself is quite normal, the main thing that is quickly done from improvised trash. It’s just not clear what kind of animal it is: a “dog” from under a wooden latch. ”
