Probably every house has a mop. Most often it is used for mopping. But it is also sometimes used in situations where, for example, it is necessary to wipe off the dust on a high cabinet and you cannot climb out with a rag in your hand, and taking an ordinary mop is not practical, since it is long and it is also inconvenient to wipe off the dust on the cabinet. You need something in between. I came to the conclusion that you can make the mop of medium size itself.
For the mop you will need the following components:
- a small pipe (about 25 cm) with a diameter of about 0.5 inches;
- a pipe of slightly smaller diameter (about 0.2 - 0.3 inches) and about 60-80 cm long;
- small clamp;
- a wooden peg or cork in diameter of a smaller pipe;
- a rag (cloth);
- scissors, nail, hammer.
So, for starters, we need to take a pipe with a smaller diameter and hammer a wooden peg or cork into one of the pipe ends, which in diameter will coincide with the diameters of the pipe itself.
Next, we take a small fabric and carefully cut it into such strips using scissors:
We put a pipe with a larger diameter on a pipe with a smaller:
After that, carefully wrap the cut fabric onto a tube with a large diameter:
After that, with the help of a clamp, we fix the fabric "wound" by us on the pipe:
Next, we turn the workpiece so that at the top there is a pipe with a smaller diameter, and at the bottom with a larger one. Next, gently straighten the fabric:
Now we take one strip of fabric and slightly folding it into an accordion on the edge, we press it to the upper part of the pipe with a smaller diameter:
In the same way we collect a strip of fabric from the opposite side. We continue to collect strips of fabric in the same way: "cross to cross".
After that, you need to take a nail and hammer, the strips of fabric collected by us, into a wooden peg in a protruding pipe of a smaller diameter:
A homemade mop is ready. Now we lower the rag into the water and squeeze the rag by rotating the pipe with a smaller diameter (at the same time we hold the pipe with a large diameter with the other hand).
After you squeezed the rag, we move the pipe of a larger diameter to the level until the rag begins to "wrinkle". Next, use the rag for its intended purpose (we wipe the dust and dirt) and again wash it and squeeze it!
