How can I make a table in the workshop

Probably every lover homemade sooner or later, faced with the problem of a lack of a sufficiently effective workspace or, more simply, a table in the workshop. It’s good if you thought about such a table early, as gradually materials and tools will be added and significantly complicate the manufacturing process. In this article we will consider the manufacture of such a table.

We will need:
- transparent plastic containers;
- boards 20 by 94 mm, which we will use for the walls;
- boards 20 to 44 for strips;
- 35 mm screws;
- sandpaper;
- varnish or paint;
- plywood 20 mm thick;
- drill;
- brush;
- roulette;
- a pencil.

Instead of plywood, from which we will cut the countertop, you can easily use a ready-made countertop from any old and unnecessary table.

Transparent plastic containers are convenient in that you can store almost everything in them - be it tools or materials necessary for work. It is this feature that we will use when creating an effective table. However, you should pay attention to one important factor: containers must have protrusions on the sides near the covers, otherwise you can forget about the lightness of the design.

You need to start work with planning and preparing the necessary materials. The main role in our table belongs to plastic containers. The shape of the table, as well as the location of the containers, must be decided and drawn on paper first thing. Only after that it is possible to approximately or even accurately calculate the required number of boards and other details.

When the drawing is ready, and the materials are purchased, you can begin to work. Let's start by sawing boards from which we will make the walls. It should be noted that the walls of the future table will not only hold the countertop, but also the guides of the containers. That is why containers must have protrusions.

After successful sawing of parts, be sure to process the edges so as not to damage yourself or your clothes.

We proceed to twist the walls.To do this, put the boards on the workspace, put on them slats, which will be guides and at the same time crossbars for connecting individual boards. Using a square, we align all the details, while checking the distance between the rails so that the containers can enter freely. We fix everything with screws.

You can proceed to the crossbars, because the walls of the table should be interconnected. Cut a few transverse piece of boards and bars. The first are more suitable for the bottom, and the second can be used for upper mounts.

Depending on the number of rows of containers, it may be necessary to make intermediate vertical supports, as well as additional guides.

After successfully cutting the crossbar, we process it and proceed to the assembly of the curbstone.

The table is almost ready. Although it is made of wood, which gives a quite spectacular look, however, you need to take care of painting. In this case, the paint will be folded with additional protection. If there is no desire to paint in any color, you can apply a couple of layers of varnish on the table.

At the end, we put a countertop on the curbstones and fix it with screws, which we fasten at the corners. Now you can put the containers in their places and enjoy your own work of furniture art.
