It's no secret that corner rooms in houses almost always remain free and unfilled. However, the corner room can be used for the manufacture and suspension of shelves, which in their appearance have a number of advantages compared to classic shelves. In addition, these shelves provide an excellent opportunity to use the free space in a rational way. We suggest designing a very beautiful and spectacular corner shelf right now.
To make a corner shelf you will need:
1. any convenient base material;
2. jigsaw;
3. drill;
4. drill;
5. fasteners;
6. roulette;
7. paper;
8. pencil.
First of all, we will determine the material of the future shelf. It can be made from almost any type of wood: it can be pieces of chipboard, MDF, laminate or a furniture plate. Consider the manufacture of shelves on the example of the latter material.
Let's start by drawing a drawing on a piece of paper. You can use the example below.
From the picture it is easy to guess that the shelf will have a height of about 70 cm, and will also be made of three sections. You can fix the structure to the walls with dowels, and the sections between themselves - with the help of confirmations.
We take furniture tiles and make markings. As a rule, they use a pencil for this, but there are tiles that have a very dark surface. In such cases, for marking, you can use a clerical knife or a more convenient tool: the main thing is that the marking is clearly visible.
After that we take electronic jigsaw and cut out marked parts.
To facilitate the assembly of any of furniture, in the drawings, you can put the part labels in the form of numbers, and then transfer these labels to the parts themselves. In the case of our regiment, we will do the same.
After successfully cutting out all the parts of the shelf, we drill holes in them that are designed to be connected to each other using confirmations. Again, to simplify the work, we do it in a consistent way, that is, first drill holes on the shelves, and then fix them together with confirmations. By the way, a drill can be purchased specifically for these fixtures. If not, you can use three ordinary drills. The diameter of the first drill should match the diameter of the screw part of the fasteners, the second - under the thickening, and the third - under the hat.
At this step, you can also drill holes for fixing the shelves to the wall.
We proceed to the decor of the edges of the parts.First you need to thoroughly clean the edges of residues and dust.
After that, we put the tape on the ends, heat the iron and with it we glue the tape for the edges in their place.
If the tape will be thicker than the furniture plate, which is likely, the remaining excess parts can be cut with a clerical knife. The edges that are formed after gluing the tape can be treated with sandpaper. If there are no ribbons for edges at hand, then they can be decorated with any improvised means.
Let's start assembling the shelf. We twist the confirmations into place with a hex wrench.
After that, we choose the location of the shelf, marking the places of fastenings on the walls.
If the walls of your house are concrete or stone, then they can be drilled with a drill that has a special winning tip.
To prevent contamination of the room during drilling, you can use old newspapers to make a paper pocket into which dust will fall.
After successful drilling, insert dowels into the holes on the shelves, and then into the holes on the walls. The dowel caps will remain open and can be hidden with special plastic plugs.
The idea itself is simple, but very effective, because it makes it possible to use the free space at the corners. It can be modified at your discretion and according to your needs.
