The author managed to make the original design of a cat house and a scratching post from an unnecessary office chair. Besides that homemade Looks great, it took a minimum of materials to make it.
To make a house and a claw-brush, the author needed the following materials:
- office chair with armrests,
- fabric of pleasant coloring,
- a piece of PVC pipe with an end edge on one side, wound with thread (the pipe should be higher than the removable pneumatic tube of the chair, and be slightly larger in diameter),
- a square piece of carpet,
- 2 cylindrical wooden pieces with a diameter of 1.5 cm, plates for fasteners,
- fasteners, including plates for mounting wooden cylinders,
- construction stapler and staples
First of all, the chair is disassembled. The back and seat of the chair are pulled by the fabric of the desired color and texture. It is convenient to use sepler and staples. When pulling the back, a square piece of carpet is laid under the fabric on the underside.
A pipe segment is wrapped in the center of the seat, wrapped with a thread of medium thickness, with the end part facing down. A future claw-point is fixed through the seat to the end of the pipe.
The armrests and the backrest bracket are attached to the seat, but towards the floor - all of these elements will serve as legs. The front side of the house will rely on cylindrical wooden elements that are attached to the bottom side of the seat with the help of plates. It turns out such a design. In order to hide the elements of the frame, the author made a cape on the lower part in the form of fabric gathered around an elastic braid around the perimeter.
The pneumatic part of the tube, which was previously attached to the seat, is attached to the back of the carpet. After fixing it, it is installed in the tube of the already assembled design of the lower part of the house.
