It’s no secret that cheap soldering irons produced in the Middle Kingdom can not boast of good technical data, however, like any cheap Chinese equipment. What to do if there is not enough money to buy a high-quality and expensive soldering iron. We suggest that you find out the answer in the review of the next video.
And what video is the review devoted to, you can find out below

What do we need:
- soldering iron;
- thick copper wire;
- screwdriver;
- drill;
- the wire;
- nippers;
- electrical tape;
- fork;
- flux;
- tin;
- metal sponge.
The first drawback of a budget soldering iron is the sting, which will not work out anything special. To fix the first flaw, we will use a thick copper wire.
We take a screwdriver and unscrew the bolt that holds the soldering iron tip.
We take out a cheap metal sting and insert a copper wire.
Leave outside about a centimeter of copper wire and clamp it with a bolt. It is easy to guess that the process of replacing the sting does not require much time.
Next, you need to give the sting the necessary shape. You can use a drill for this.
Next, we take a file and carefully process the sting after shaping, because there will be many irregularities on the wire after the drill, which will necessarily affect the soldering.
The sting is ready after that. It remains to tin it.
The next minus is the wire and plug. After some time, the insulation of the wires of cheap Chinese soldering irons begins to burst, as a result of which the wire is exposed, which is certainly dangerous.
To replace the wire, you need to pull out the compartment in which the nichrome wire is installed.
After this, it is necessary to untie the knot that fixes the wire.
Remove the insulation and the wire itself. It can be used for equipment that consumes little energy.
Next, take a new wire, wire cutters and bite off about 70 cm.
We remove the insulation and begin to tie the wires to the nichrome wire.
Do not forget to carefully wind the wires with insulating tape.
Insert the handle back. If you use a thick wire, as the author of the idea does, then instead of a knot to fix the wire and prevent a break, you can wrap it with electrical tape.
On the second side of the wire, we also remove the insulation and connect the wiring to a new plug.
Finally you can tin the sting. Connect the soldering iron to the outlet. We take a flux and drip a couple of drops on any metal surface.
We apply the sting to the flux and melt the tin.
We wipe the sting on a metal sponge.
Again, wrap it well in solder.
This completes the development of a cheap soldering iron.
