The author of the lesson at home had unnecessary HDD drives, and so he decided to create giant USB flash drives from them to surprise their familiar IT-people. You will also need a four-port USB hub and working flash drives.
We will need:
- the hard drive is inoperative;
- HDD drives;
- four working flash drives;
- epoxy resin or glue.
Step 1
Take a non-working hard drive, a four-socket splitter and working flash drives.
Step 2
Remove the fixing screws from the hard drive together with the cover and the central drive.
Step 3
When choosing a USB hub, be sure to make sure that it fits the size of your hard drive.
Step 4
Remove the plastic cover from the splitter.
Step 5
Place the hub in the center disk as shown in the photo.
Attention: If you intend to continue to use this device for its intended purpose, be sure to coat the connection with super-glue or epoxy (which will be at hand). Otherwise, when used, a giant flash drive can "fall apart" into parts, but this is not very convenient.
Step 6
Connect the flash drives as shown in the photo. There is nothing complicated here.
Step 7
All that remained for the author was to assemble the lid back. A flash drive in the form of a hard drive.
Test your device for performance and surprise your friends with it!
