Convenient garden swings can be made out of an unnecessary or failed skateboard. The author in the photographs independently demonstrates their strength and comfort.
To make a swing, the author needed:
- a skateboard from which the wheels were previously removed,
- strong rope
- two carbines and two clamps,
- drill
- a nozzle on a drill for drilling holes with a diameter of about 12 mm,
- a piece of cuttings for garden tools,
- varnish in a bottle or impregnation for wood.
Step 1.
On a skateboard, you need to mark the places for drilling holes for the rope. There should be four of them. On a skateboard, they are conveniently located on specific bends of the board.
Step 2
Using a special nozzle, drilled holes are drilled.
Step 3
On the segment of the handle, there are marked holes for the holes, which should correspond to the holes in the board.
Then, two segments are cut from the handle along the width of the skateboard and holes are drilled into them according to previously marked marks.
Drilling sites and cuts are processed with abrasive paper.
Impregnation or varnish is applied to the cuttings - at the request of the master.
2 segments are cut from the rope, depending on the height of the branch or strap for attaching the swing, taking into account the fact that each segment is folded in half.
In the middle of each segment of the rope, loops are made, fixing them with clamps, carbines are inserted into the loops. The lower ends of each segment are threaded through round strips, and then through the holes in the board. In order for the strips to be on the same level, surround knots are knotted. They also come with the ends of the rope on the back of the board - they are tied to knots.
The swing is comfortable due to the optimal width and length of the board from the skateboard and its specific curvature.
