From improvised materials you can create a very original lamp, which will not only be an excellent option for lighting an apartment, but also serve as an interior decor. With the design itself, if you wish, a beginner will also get used to it. But only when assembling such a lamp in an industrial style, it is necessary to take into account several important nuances in order to make the product safe.
We will need:
- copper soft pipes 1.5 meters;
- four tees (0.5 inches);
- three tubes (0.5x3 inches);
- one tube with the following values: 0.5x4, 0.5x24 and 0.5x18 inches;
- plugs, half flange (to fix the lamp to the ceiling);
- screws, wires, brass adapters;
- LED bulbs and current source;
- a hacksaw for metal, keys, a screwdriver;
- drills, insulating tape, paint, powder, brush, rag, tongs for crimping the wire.
Step 1
At first, the author worked with copper pipes. He cut off pieces of a length of 30 centimeters using a hacksaw using a hacksaw. It took three such pieces. Bend them in an arc, as shown in the photo.
The tubes are soft; they can lose shape when bent. It is not only not beautiful, but you cannot pass wires into such a tube. So be careful. The author resorted to a simple technique: he filled the tube with solid material from the inside (for example, tightly compacted sand is very suitable for this purpose or ice). A smaller tube is also suitable. In general, what you will have on hand at that time.
Step 2
Fasten compression fittings to the ends of the bent tubes. Screw the nut onto the fitting, press along the length of the tube as far as possible. When the fitting stops, immediately turn it half a turn using a wrench. After that, proceed to the next step.
Step 3
Pass the wires with lampholders for the LED lamp through the copper tubes. Wrap the cartridge itself with electrical tape.
Step 4
Clean all lamp materials. After all, steel pipes are sold with a layer of oil coating - it protects them from corrosion during storage. Powder and brush will help to clean the pipes. Just do it in work clothes, which is not a pity.Remove the oil coating completely, then the pipes should dry completely. By the way, you can paint them with paint of any color (the author took black).
Step 5
Now it's time to assemble the components of the lamp. You can observe the assembly sequence in the photo. When assembling this design, make sure the wires are securely fastened. Be sure to run the wires through the mounting flange.
Step 6
Connect the power source to the lamp. Check if the wires get hot when connecting the power source - this is very important! If somewhere they started to heat, then it is dangerous to use the device.
Step 7
Fix the industrial-style lamp to the selected surface by installing a power source for it in advance.
